Wish I were at the coffee, but it is a beautiful day here in St. Louis - I voted, now let's see what happens.  Of course I am a Democrat, an anomoly in Nebraska, I know!! All of the trees are blooming here with pretty flowers, the daffodils are out, and soon, the lilacs will be blooming, and strawberries are actually ripe here.  My harbinger of spring and summer in Nebraska was always when the lilac bushes bloomed.  I remember there were two beautiful lilac bushes in front of Longfellow ( I used to spend a lot of time on the steps there, do not ask why angry - but it was fun at the time!!!  Hope everyone is well and happy this early part of '16 - !!!

Wayne,

Thanks so much for your continued  hard work on the Rowdy Project!  I've been extremely busy with work since 2/19, but extending the Rowdy Legacy is never far from my mind. Contact me me privately to brainstorm what the "next thing" is for establishing a permanent endowment of some sort.  My ideas range from buying all of the school's basketballs every year to an endowed scholarship fund for one or two deserving Rowdies each year.

Hello again to all.  I logged on hoping to see some great fishing stories/ photos.  Come on where are all the fishermen/ women?  I'd love to hear your stories from start to FIN-ish.  Just some other brain buzz.  A couple of nights ago a commentator on PBS Nightly New Hour posed the question.."What is wrong with the Democratic Party"?  She asked this for a straight face.  Through 10 min of mindless blather, I was still rolling on the floor laughing.  I could have answered that is 10 seconds--they did not have any Psychopaths for candidates,   This from a lifelong moderate Republican, who like so many others in the party are red from embarassment.  I know politics are probably a verboten topic, but I had to share this bit of incredible irony.  I am still trying to get to retirement, on paper I'm part time, but the schedule has not gotten the memo.  I would appreciate any advice about adjusting to retirement that any of you would like to volunteer.  Loved all the Rowdies photos, almost as good as fish stories.  Summer has sure arrived with a vengeance, we could sure use some rain and a cool down.  Speaking of weather, last month we were gifted with a "Hell of a Hail Storm", baseball size hail in Southeast Lincoln.  Still waiting to have the roof reshingled and the part of the siding and fence replaced.  Apparently 20,000 homes had damage and the neighborhood has more yard signs than a contested campaign for roofing/construction companies.  Also the constant tapping/ nailguns to replace the shingles are a great background noise, almost as much fun as dodging all the trucks, trailers and cranes for the shingles.  But the other morning I was driving home from a night shift and they were already working in hot humid conditions.   Makes me glad to have an inside job with air conditioning !!!

Boy, that concert and the food truck thing sure sounds like fun!  Wayne & John -- I'm desperately trying to figure out a date to get back to Kearney before summer disappears.  We have unfinished Rowdy business to discuss (I probably should be driving that effort, but the final push to insure the sustainability of my business, without me :), has been a 24/7 activity in 2016).  I'm in Europe until the 27th,  I'll be in touch about getting together in August/September.  Ciao for now!

The MONA event sounds so fun!  Bob and Wayne, let me know what I can do to help with the Rowdy project.

Thanks John and Wayne for organizing the event next Thursday!

YIKES, I just got a message from MONA that due to the excessive heat tonight's Sounds of Summer Concert has been cancelled.  Wayne will be individually mailing all of you that responded to him and were planning to come!
