Mary Louise,  Joe and I want to send our deepest sympathy in the passing of your mother.  We thought the world of her and she was always there for me when I was deployed for Red cross.  It is hard to lose our parents and she was a go getter with a wonderful mind.  No one could get any thing over on her. She was there for us when we lost our grandson.  We truly loved her and she will be greatly missed.  Joe and Peggy Porter

Mary Louise - I am so sorry to hear about your mother passing away.  I know that she raised a beautiful daughter.  My deepest sypathies to you and your family.

I'm so sorry Mary Louise.  Your mom was some kind of lady.  I miss America's greatest generation - perhaps no one will ever do it all better.

Bob Elliott - I miss America's Greatest Generation also, they taught us so much!!  I am only hoping that we can emulate them in our interactions with younger generations.  Mary Louise's mother was a wonderful example of all the talents that we have - usually unused - that can be put to use in our everyday life.  My grandfather, Ray McDowell, was another one of these people, he played the banjo, the bass, and the piano, plus he was an interior decorator, before that became a profession.  He also could fix anything, we always brought our toasters, hair dryers or any other item that needed fixing to him and he fixed it for us.  Instead of us throwing it away.

The Eagle in the picture is alive. Not sure about the guy standing next to it. Taken at the Longs Peak Scottish Irish Highlands Festival 2016. Background is a photo drop. I took a cell phone picture of the photo so I could post it. No art awards here!

John or Wayne ever thought about doing a Facebook Live  from your coffee get together?  We could watch the live stream on Facebook and type in questions.  Just a thought.   If you decide to do it, let us know ahead of time so we do not miss it.

Hi everyone I just was at a KPS school board meeting and the voted to sell the old KHS property to the  Church  I belong to for  us  to develop as our new church.  I have been  a part  of this  process for  many years  and now  we have  a new  location to continue  our ministries from. We plan to preserve the original gym (where the  rowdies we're hatched) as our  sancutary and  all of the west side  and  newer north side for  ministry space. I am so  thankful to be  able to share this  with all of you  and  ask for your prayers as we  continue  on this journey that God  has  us on. God bless all who called KHS home. Let me here  what yourr  thoughts are  and  i will  keep you posted on the progress..........................Monte

Monte,

Thanks for the update about the former high school site.  I think it's wonderful that your church was awarded the purchase and they will use it as a worship and teaching facility.

It will be good to hear from time to time what the church is doing to convert the space to their ministeries.

Thanks again for the update.

Everyone is invited to Panera Bread this Saturday morning (11-26-16) for coffee and the appearance of the great Bob "Mole-Original Rowdy" Elliott. We will discuss ways we can get, not only our "Original Rowdy" class, but all 45 following classes involved in helping fund raise for an annual "Rowdy Scholarship" and finish our Kiosk debt which will be unvailed sometime this basketball season. The school is still working on it!

It is a very busy time of year, so come and meet some old friends and maybe make some new ones!! Hope to see you there!!

Happy THANKSGIVING everyone!!!laugh

Well done Rick! The Indian Village Store on the corner in Estes brings back fond childhood memories.  I bought a lighter in there that was round and flat to look like a coin. One side heads and one side tails. It was not one I would want my mom to find on me. Raised embossed female parts.

I also bought an Indian drum. Was disappointed when the plastic ties holding the black rubber heads broke and I found the coffee can under the paper wrapping. Hmmmmm  . . . . . Tourist . . . . . Still owned by the same family.

The Stanley Hotel, an Estes landmark for sure. Ghost Tours !

Ok, mates, more pictures . . . .

Brownie: I wonder what brand of coffee the Pawnee drank to get the best tone out of their drums?

A message from Jerry Cummings,

Wray continues his fight against cancer.  On 29 Dec, he was admitted to a Lincoln hospital with an infection.  That has been stabilized and he’s now resting, waiting discharge later this week.  He’s got time on his hands and his iPad so if anyone wants to contact him to say hello, please feel free to do so at wrayzee@gmail.com.  He might surprise you with a response.

All the Best to the ‘69ers.
